"Lactoferrin is a nutrient classically found in breast milk. It binds iron and is transferred via a variety of receptors into and between cells, serum, bile, and cerebrospinal fluid. It has important immunological properties, and is both antibacterial and antiviral."
Tactical Support
Multifunctional protein that has several balancing and restorative roles in the body
The Game-Changing Nutrient
Lactoferrin is already present within the body, so Leapfrog IMMUNE works in synergy with our bodies’ own natural immune systems
Dose
250mg per IMMUNE tablet
50mg per SNOOZE tablet
Form
Bovine Lactoferrin (bLf) is lactoferrin sourced from cow’s milk. Its similarity to human milk (up to 75% homology) means it shares many of the same therapeutic benefits
Antimicrobial
Prevents viruses and bacteria from entering healthy cells and replicating. Binds to bacterial walls and kills bacteria
Iron-binding
Starves viruses and bacteria of the iron they need in order to survive and thrive. Facilitates iron transport across the blood brain barrier, optimising cognitive function
Enhances BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor)
BDNF is crucial for learning, memory, and neuroplasticity. Lactoferrin may stimulate its production.
Stimulates Innate Immunity
Enhances the body’s immune response & improves the activation of white blood cells that respond to viruses and bacteria
Anti-Inflammatory
Prevents harmful immune and inflammatory responses
Immunomodulatory
Stimulates the immune system to act against germs and moderates our response to infections (maintains immune homeostasis and prevents the immune system going into overdrive) Also, helps us recover more quickly from infection
Support Gut-Brain Axis
Promotes the growth of selected probiotic strains

- Design: Meta-analysis of Randomised Controlled Trials
- Participants: –
- Dose: –
- Duration: –
- Results: The meta-analysis revealed that Lactoferrin, a multifunctional protein with iron chelation ability, plays an important role in stabilizing essential iron metabolism in both extracellular and intracellular systems. Due to the wide spectrum that Lactoferrin possesses in the brain, Lactoferrin can also become a supportive molecule for the therapeutic agent against Parkinson's Disease

- Design: -
- Participants: –
- Dose: –
- Duration: –
- Results: Iron imbalance and oxidative stress are common among patients with neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, depression, and multiple sclerosis. As an endogenous iron-chelator, lactoferrin prevents iron accumulation and dopamine depletion in Parkinson's disease patients. Oral lactoferrin supplementation could modulate the p-Akt/PTEN pathway, reduce Aβ deposition, and ameliorate cognitive decline in Alzheimer's disease.

- Dose: 155 (low) or 285 mg kg-1day-1(high) from postnatal days 3 to 38
- Duration: 35 days
- Results: Results found that the piglets in the two lactoferrin groups learned faster than the control group in both the easy and difficult learning tests. The treatment group had faster learning ability than the control group and better long-term memory, of 3 hours and 40 minutes.
